Azure consulting: from assessment to implementation
Senior Azure architects and engineers who assess your environment, design a Landing Zone, migrate and modernize workloads and build them as code. This page covers technical delivery; ongoing operations are described under Azure Managed Services.
What does SwedQ deliver as an Azure consultant?
SwedQ assesses current workloads, designs the Azure foundation for identity, networking, security and governance, and migrates or modernizes applications and data. Work is delivered as infrastructure as code in your environment, and the same team can move straight from assessment to implementation.
Azure strategy and assessment
We start with what you have: applications, dependencies, data, licenses and constraints. The assessment clarifies which workloads should move, in which order and with which approach, and what the target environment needs to look like.
Migration from on-premises or another cloud
Migration is planned around dependencies and business impact rather than server counts. Depending on the workload, we rehost, replatform or refactor, and plan testing, cutover and rollback so that the business keeps running.
Azure Landing Zones
A Landing Zone is the foundation every workload builds on. We design it based on Microsoft’s Cloud Adoption Framework and adapt it to your size and requirements.
- Management group and subscription structure.
- Identity and access with Microsoft Entra ID, Privileged Identity Management and role-based access control.
- Networking: hub-and-spoke or Virtual WAN, private endpoints and connectivity to on-premises.
- Security and governance with Azure Policy, Microsoft Defender for Cloud and logging.
- Cost management with budgets, tags and ownership per subscription.
Application modernization
Moving an application to Azure is a chance to change how it runs. We modernize where it pays off.
AKS and container platforms
Azure Kubernetes Service and Azure Container Apps for containerized workloads, with sensible defaults for scaling, networking and upgrades.
.NET and Microsoft workloads
Modernizing .NET Framework applications, Windows Server and SQL Server workloads, including Azure SQL and App Service.
Data and AI services
Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Microsoft Fabric, Azure AI Foundry and Azure OpenAI in Foundry Models, integrated with identity and governance.
Infrastructure as code
Everything we build is defined in Bicep or Terraform and deployed through pipelines. That makes changes reviewable, environments repeatable and the work transferable to your team.
Cost management
Cost is designed in from the start: right-sized resources, reservations or savings plans where usage is predictable, and existing Windows Server and SQL Server licenses considered where eligible. Final costs depend on architecture, usage and commercial terms.
From assessment to implementation, then operations
The same team can carry the work from assessment into implementation, so findings are not lost in a hand-over. When the environment is live, ongoing monitoring and operations can continue under Azure Managed Services, defined in a separate service agreement.

Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as Azure Managed Services?
No. Azure consulting covers design, migration and implementation. Azure Managed Services covers ongoing operations of the resulting environment and is described on its own page.
Do you follow the Cloud Adoption Framework?
Yes, we use Microsoft’s Cloud Adoption Framework and Azure Landing Zone guidance as a starting point and adapt them to your organization.
Can you migrate from AWS to Azure?
Yes. SwedQ works with both AWS and Azure and can plan migrations between them, as well as hybrid setups.
Do you need access to our environment to start?
Not for the first conversation. Access is only needed once the assessment scope is agreed, and is then set up with least privilege.
